Even Snowmen

Even Snowmen have off days

or so it seems

thinking their human

Just like in dreams

In their pillbox hats

and scarfs so fancy and bright

some one should have told them

stay away from anything hot or sunlight

But one of them thought

that a lighted cigar was so cool

and when it was lit

he ended up as a melted snow pool

now he has gone forevermore

Only his scarf, buttons and hat are there

all that's left of him, that's for sure

Sad for those who really care

So always remember

that snow melts quick and fast

So do not give a Snowman a cigar

or he will become a thing of the past

Remember Me

Remember me when I am gone

For I am here but once a year

To bring all children lots of fun

And fill the world with winter cheer

My friends the Snow and cold Arctic weather

Make the days so bitterly cold

But despite their intervention

I will never last until I am old

But whilst I am here on earth I will enjoy

The kiddies smiles and laughter too

Even older people come to see me

And enjoy me, a Snowman through and through

So always remember

That Snowmen have a heart, though it may be cold

And live and breath the cool winter air

As they stand out so big and bold

So enjoy the time that I am here

Lets play together whilst I last

Because when the Sun begins to shine

I begin to melt real fast

So tomorrow morning

If the Sun is high and warm throughout the day

Please take the time to say hello

Before I go on my merry way

The Snowmen

The night the streets snowmen had a party

Making the most of their time whilst here

Because Snow only last a very short while

So the rising of the Sun would be very near

Cakes and drinks and party games

Great fun was had by all

Laughing, joking just having fun

They were having a real old ball

But always remember

That you made them one and all

So get into the Snow as soon as possible

And the Snowman can come and call

To bring you lots of merriment and joy

We all become children once again when they arrive

So all ways think truly of them

And they will seem to come alive

The Display

Down in the garden Centre

not far from home

Christmas goodies

stand all alone

In  a far corner

on side of the store

which pleases the children

who want to see more

Polar Bears of all shapes and sizes

posing with Reindeers, White Tigers as well

such a pretty sight on the eye

it really looks swell

They say pick me up and buy me

take me home today

I would look so special

in your own Christmas display

As you wander amongst

the rest of the wares on show

Lights, moving characters

there's lots you know

Fancy Christmas tree’s, real or artificial

with bright lashing lights

Green one, white ones

such pretty sights

For Christmas is that special time of year

to be happy, merry full of good cheer

but never forget

 the  real reason its here

Its to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus

God’s son he sent down to earth

so always remember on Christmas day

what he meant and was worth

The sacrifices he made

to make it a better world for us to share

This display is all part of the celebration

so remember when you stand and stare

The cottage down the lane

Such a pretty sight

It is a lonely walk home out in the Snow

But at least the ground is white

The Trees and Bushes covered

With a blanket of crispy white snowflakes

That glistens in the afternoon Sun

What a picturesque scene it makes

Carrying wood home for the fire

So it will rage up in the fireplace

And bring warmth and peace inside the home

A bit of poor man’s style and grace

With very little money

Food is pretty scarce you see

But making homemade bread and Jam

Means there’s something there for tea

The snow upon the rooftop

Helps to keep the heat in during the cold wintery night

Along with the hanging Oil Lamps

The rooms are warm and bright

Not much farther now to go

And will soon be at the door

Can go inside and get warm again

What man can ask for more?

What to some people may seem a lonely life?

But to me its peace and tranquillity

Because the person trudging home wearily in the Snow

Is no one else but me?
