DOES IT RAIN IN HEAVEN

I wonder if it rains in heaven

Or is it just Angel’s tears

That fall from clouds like lemon drops

To wash away our fears

Do they fly across the sky

Out of sight and sound

Their snowy wings to carry them through

As their hearts do gently pound

I wonder if it rains in heaven

Like it does on earth

To see torrents raging in that special place

To help their life’s rebirth

If God has a way with words

I wonder what he would say

About the rain in heaven

That keeps the Sun at bay

I wonder if it rains in heaven

I will find out when my time comes

Because when I pass on that’s where I will go

With my spirit just going home

All of us have lived before

We just return to our roots in time

Been around for a thousand years

At present we are in our prime

I wonder if it rains in heaven

Will it affect St. Peters Gate

I hope it is not rusty

And make me arrive to late

When I get to heaven

It will rain for sure I know

If not to cleanse my weary heart

But to wash out my immortal soul

Heaven opens up its gates

To all of us you see

Provided we have led a life

Full of tranquillity and purity

To feel those raindrops when I arrive

Those Angel’s will look after me

To be at peace for all my days

God and I in perfect harmony

Let’s go Butch

Out in the Snow and play

I have borrowed Mummy’s pram

So we can walk a longer way

To see the snow where it’s laying thick

So that you can run around

Jump and do head over heels

And slide along the ground

My footprints are left behind me

There’s none of yours yet of course

We can walk off down the lane

To the field where they keep the horse

Old Dobbin will be pleased to see us

But you must not frighten him at all

Or he will run away and hide

Back into his rickety stable stall

I can make some snowballs

Throw them for you to chase

And when we are tired we can walk back home

Leaving pram wheel tracks all over the place

Our Paradise on Earth

The curtains are drawn

The weeds overgrown

But this is our old house

The one we used to own

The pillars are still standing

Just like the two of us now manage

The wooden front door used to creak open

With its cracks and weather beaten damage

But it was our home one so full of love in the past

When we ran away together

People said, it will never last

But thirty years later in the old peoples home

We are still together

And outside we still roam

And frequently pass by

Our old house on our street

Even the old back alley is still there

Where we clandestinely used to meet

But we loved each other madly

Then, and still do now

But we now have lines on our faces

On our hands and our brow

But you still look as lovely

As when we ran away

When I promised you faithfully

I ould love you till the end of the day

So our old home

Full of memories so good

As we walk passed hand in hand, after so long

Its lasted the time, like all true love should

Hello Operator

Can you now connect me

To the number I have given you

My one true love is so far away

Across the deep blue sea

And I don’t know what to do

I miss his so very terribly

Ever since he went away

So this call is all I have left

To brighten up my day

I know it may be difficult

But please help me if you can

I need to hear his reassuring voice

For his a really special man

He makes my heart race all the time

His kiss is so devine

And his smile just lights up any room

It makes me glad he’s mine

So operator, hurry please

And do your best for me

So my day can start off perfect

Because I love him so you see

The Universal Soldier

As I Lie here dreaming the night away

Waiting for the dawn, ready to fight another day

The universal soldier that I have become

So far from home, from Dad and Mum

My Wife, my Children to them a stranger I have become

Not the man I once was to anyone

War changes men in so many ways

As we try to live through the coming days

Never knowing if each day will be our last

The Bombs, the Bullets come thick and fast

My comrades in arms each and everyone

To me a Brother, my one true friend they have become

On each other we completely rely

We have no one else when the enemy’s rounds begin to fly

A comrades hit, lay dying there

No time to be afraid, just show you care

Help where possible; risk your life to save his

As around you smoke and bullets whizz

For he would do the same for you

Because that in the end is what soldiers do?

Each death is greeted like a brother lost

Every day we have to count the cost

Sometimes you wonder will it be me today

But not long in the mind does that thought stay

You just bite your lip, put on your pack

Like a lifetime on your back

Contains all you need to see it through

Above all the courage inside of you

We fight, we party all as one

Because that is what we have become

A true fighting unit all for one and one for all

Together we stand, together we fall

Sadly some may not make it through

Take a lonely flight home, just thank God it’s not you

So when you awake tomorrow it’s the fallen comrades you are fighting for

I am a Universal Soldier for ever more

But as I dream of the ones I love

My fallen comrades in heaven above

I know I will do my duty, be what I am

A Soldier, a one true fearless man

I will give my life for my county if it’s my destiny

Be buried with the flag knowing I have made a better life for those who truly love me
